Blog Tour: Compulsion - Heidi Ayarbe - Kasey Character Interview & Giveaway

Today, Heidi Ayarbe stops by with Kasey one of the characters of her upcoming release, Compuls1on, courtesy of the Teen Book Scene. Thank you for being here, Heidi! If you would like to follow along with the tour, you can follow along here or by clicking on the banner. The giveaway will be listed below the interview. Enjoy!

Hi Kasey! Thank you for being here today!

*looks around*

Thank you. Umm, will lots of people be reading this? Reading about me? *primps hair*

Do you have any hobbies? What do you do for fun?

It all kind of depends what’s going on, you know. When my mom’s not in total zombie-land, we go to the mall and shop. Since Jake’s always at soccer, I kind of tag along there. My friends all crush on him – totally gross and not cool – but he’s fun to watch.

And, for real, one of my favorite things in the world is my French class. It’s totally chic. Like the cool thing to do. Just say, “French.”

*waits*

Did you say it? You know what I mean now. It’s chic.

How would you describe your relationship with your brother, and your family?

Jake totally sees me as a ten year old. But that’s cool, too, because it’s nice to have somebody looking out for me. Even though, honestly, he’s like the toddler at times. Like everything has to be just the way he likes it. But really, he’s the only one on the planet who asks me how my day has gone. If you think about it, I bet a lot of people don’t have that – somebody to ask them about their day. That’s pretty cool.

Dad’s awesome. When he’s home. And not pissed off. Which is, well, never.

Mom’s just … nevermind.

What is the hardest part about knowing what your brother struggles with?

I don’t see what the big deal is. He just has a way about him. Nobody ever got all pissy about Howard Hughes being the way he was and he slept with Hollywood’s most gorgeous women – both with naturally curly hair, by the way: Ava Gardner and Katharine Hepburn. So my brother maybe has a few weird-ass things about him, but it’s not like nobody else does. I think everybody should just lay off.

What do you think of your brother and Tanya?

She’s totally gross. I think everybody just wants my brother to get laid. The whole idea of it makes my skin crawl and want to shower. Like ewwww. Don’t even want to think about it.

Do you support Jake's decision to keep his OCD hidden, or do you wish more people knew about it?

If you came from my family, you’d have some nutso things, too. It’s not like he has a problem – not for real. Mom, yeah. She’s Wack-oh with a capital W. I mean, it’s my mom who’s mental, not Jake. Jake does what he does to win. It’s a sports thing, you know. So it’s not like he’s hiding anything. And people don’t have to look at him the way they do sometimes. Like Luc. Luc is a total tool. I just help Jake keep things organized. That’s not a real problem.

Thank you again for being here and for answering these questions, Kasey! French IS chic, isn't it?
