Blog Tour: Boyfriends With Girlfriends - Alex Sanchez - Author Interview

Today I'd like to thank Alex Sanchez for being here! He is here courtesy of the Teen Book Scene blog tour for his new book, Boyfriends With Girlfriends. You can follow along with the tour here, or through the banner. Additionally, you can learn more about Alex at his website located at www.AlexSanchez.com. Enjoy!

What was your favorite part of "Boyfriends with Girlfriends" to write?

The middle was the most fun to write. The beginning was hard since I needed to set up four distinct central characters, each with a different voice and personality. Once they got rolling, then I was able to relax and enjoy the writing.

Do the characters or book have any theme songs? If so, what are they?

I can’t think of specific songs, but for Lance it would be some musical show tune. For Allie, choral music. For Sergio, Latin dance music. For Kimiko, punk.

If you could be a tree, what kind of tree would you be?

A shiny, sparkly Christmas tree, the center of attention.

What would the front-page headline of a newspaper say about you?

“Nothing exciting happened today, so here’s a story about a local writer.”

What wouldn't you want to see make the front page?

The same things I wouldn’t want to see make it into this blog.

If you could meet any character from any book ever written, which book and character would you choose and why?

I’d love to bring all my characters together at a party and watch to see who ended up with who.

Thank you for being here today, Alex! I enjoyed your answers. I'd be intrigued to see if all of your characters got along as well, and who ended up with who! :)

-------------

Lance has always known he was gay, but he's never had a real boyfriend. Sergio is bisexual, but his only real relationship was with a girl. When the two of them meet, they have an instant connection--but will it be enough to overcome their differences?
Allie's been in a relationship with a guy for the last two years--but when she meets Kimiko, she can't get her out of her mind. Does this mean she's gay? Does it mean she's bi? Kimiko, falling hard for Allie, and finding it impossible to believe that a gorgeous girl like Allie would be into her, is willing to stick around and help Allie figure it out.

Boyfriends with Girlfriends is Alex Sanchez at his best, writing with a sensitive hand to portray four very real teens striving to find their places in the world--and with each other.
Synopsis taken from goodreads.
