I Heart You, You Haunt Me - Lisa Schroeder

Girl meets boy.
Girl loses boy.
Girl gets boy back...
...sort of.

Ava can't see or touch him,
unless she's dreaming.
She can't hear his voice,
except for the faint whispers in her mind.
Most would think she's crazy, but she knows he's here.

Jackson.
The boy Ava thought she'd spend the rest of her life with.
He's back from the dead,
as proof that love truly knows no bounds.

Title: I Heart You, You Haunt Me
Author: Lisa Schroeder
Genre: Young Adult
Publisher: Simon Pulse
My Rating: 4/5

This was a light and easy read. I wasn't expecting this book to be all in verse. I enjoyed the style of the writing. It flowed quite well, especially for being set in a poetic format. I loved Ava's character, she has a strong voice, and we follow her after the tragic loss of her boyfriend, and first love, Jackson. We see how she copes with his death, as well as his ghost. It was a very heart-warming story. I don't want to say too much more as I don't want to give out any spoilers. All in all, it was a unique format, and a quick read. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants something "light-hearted", but deals with tough subjects, to read.

This book counts toward the 2010 100+ Reading Challenge hosted over at J. Kaye's book blog.

I read this book a while back and loved it. It was the first verse novel I ever read, but I found it surprisingly refreshing! Great review :)
