Blog Tour: Asha in Time - Mandy Nachampassack-Maloney - Author Interview

Mandy Nachampassack-Maloney is here today with an author interview courtesy of the Teen Book Scene blog tour for her new release, Asha in Time. Thank you for being here today, Mandy! You can follow along with the tour here, or by clicking through the banner. Enjoy!
If you could live in any time period in history, which would you prefer and why?

I think I’d choose regency England but only if I could be a Lady at court and near the Virgin Queen. To be around a woman that was pioneering a new independent reign, new religion, and new devotion to the arts would be wonderful. Still, living the life of an average person where sanitation was a low priority and women married in their early teens- no thanks. Pass on that.

What one song defines the world as you see it?

“She’s Crazy But That’s Alright With Me”- Cross Canadian Ragweed

If you were dropped within the pages of Asha in Time, what would you do first?

I’d have to head over to the Temple of Isis to watch everything unfold and probably to scrounge up even the most menial of jobs. I’m not qualified in anything that would make a woman a good priestess.

There are two doors before you. One opens to Narnia, the other to Hogwarts. Which do you go through?

Hogwarts! Oh man, wouldn’t that be wonderful. Would Harry still be there? If so, I’m doubly in.

Can you give us a description of Asha in Time in haiku?

One young girl in Egypt
Must find her way and herself
And find her own throne

Thank you for answering my questions, and for being here today, Mandy!

--------

She was special. Her parents knew that; though it was not her sable hair, her wide amber eyes, but the fact that she had memories of things she could not possibly know. She remembered the palace of ancient Thebes, the palace pharaohs and queens had walked in. Finally, on her thirteenth birthday, she would find out where her memories were born. She would return to ancient Egypt to get her answers, but she had no idea that he was waiting for her.

She'll have to use all her wits and wiles to find her way in Egypt and into his heart without destroying herself.
