What is your favourite line from "The Sacred Oath"?

Easy! It's from Chapter 32, Dasan's The Warrior & the Wolf: "A warrior knows death is always a hair’s breadth away, but he doesn’t dwell on the possibility of his death when he goes into battle. A warrior just fights."

What song would best describe Angelina?

"Six Feet Tall (On the Brightside)", by Never Shout Never

What books would Angelina identify with or love?

Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, John Steinbeck's The Wayward Bus. And in modern literature, The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong and Wings by Aprilynne Pike

What would the front page headline of a newspaper say about you?

DC Grace never gave up! She made her own success, against all odds.

If you could meet a character from any book ever written, which character and book would you choose and why?

I have two: Jace from City of Bones from modern literature. I just want to give the guy a big hug, hahaha! He's such an amazing, complex character! And from classic literature it would be Jo from Little Women. I just really relate to her.

The Sacred Oath opens up with Angelina and her family having just relocated to Wisconsin. Her mother has some eccentric ways, and Angelina can't help but roll her eyes at some of the customs that her mom imposes on their new residence. Angelina and her mother are both practicing witches, or, at least Angelina thinks that is what she is. When she meets someone, Dasan, she starts hearing drumbeats that draw her towards him. Her eyes are soon opened to realms she never thought possible, and she discovers the truth about herself. Peril is around every corner, and Angelina and Dasan will have to rely on each other to triumph over evil.  

The Sacred Oath is a fresh and fun read, chock full of supernatural entities. Angelina and Dasan are at the forefront of the novel, however they are surrounded by their tight-knit group of friends. I enjoyed The Sacred Oath but I found that some information wasn't explained to the reader, specifically about certain supernatural beings and their classifications. At times I was wondering how certain aspects fit in and why the characters were doing what they were doing. Regardless of that, it didn't detract too much from the overall flow of the story, and I did find the read quite enjoyable. All of the characters added to the story, and I really enjoyed the difference in their personalities. I liked the friction between Dasan and Pay, and the teasing jibes tossed between Jake and Dasan. 

Angelina is a strong, solid character, learning about her heritage. She doesn't take any guff from Dasan and shows that she will stand up to him, and will be there for him. Their relationship seemed to happen overnight, but with some characters there just happens to be that immediate connection. 

All in all, a light and intriguing read. Fans of Supernatural might enjoy the mythology behind this one as it seems to have the up-tempo drive characteristic to the show. Great friends, a surprising mystery, and a quest rolled into one, this one is sure to entertain.
