This week was another slow week for me, but I'm not complaining. I'm looking forward to playing catchup on all of the books that I have sitting on my shelf waiting to be read and reviewed. I can't believe it's almost Christmas! Less than one week to go... which also means that the Wintery Goodness Giveaway that Kari (A Good Addiction) and I are hosting will be ending in a week. NaNoWriMo

I decided to participate in the festivites this year. It's my first time, and I'm flying by the seat of my pants joining in this year. I've got a vague idea for a storyline so far. It's forming well, but I'm not quite sure where it's going to end up. We shall see. I figure this is the incentive I need to get back into writing seriously. I'm not aiming to have the book finished in 50,000 words, but I'm hoping to have a good chunk of it done by the end of the month. We shall see how it goes. I will update everyone here on how I'm faring throughout the month. Feel free to add me as a buddy if you are participating. My nickname is CorLostForWords.

Birthday Giveaway Winners

My birthday giveaway came to a close last weekend and I was happily surprised and honoured to see that 200 people had entered the giveaway! That is awesome!! Swati Avasthi "Before the Split" Blog Tour and Auction News

To honor National Domestic Violence Awareness month, author Swati Avasthi has combined a blog tour for her debut novel, Split, with a charity auction. Over 40 authors, agents and editors have donated manuscript critiques, personalized books, and more to an online auction that anyone –reader, writer, booklover -- can bid on and buy. All proceeds go to the Family Violence Prevention Fund. In addition to the auction, Avasthi is donating $1/comment on her 26-stop, month-long blog tour, coordinated by Kari Olson at Teen Book Scene. If she reaches her goal and cap of $250, she will double the donation. Follow the tour, get stuff you want, and make a difference.

This week has sparked off a lot of contests! First up, I'll be celebrating my birthday later this month, and I thought I'd have a giveaway to share the birthday fun with you guys. :) Four books are up for grabs: Paranormalcy, Losing Faith, Firelight, and Shadow Hills.
